Anonymous / about the fb thing - i think it really depends on the situation you’re in? if you’re out to your parents (if you’re a minor) and you believe that it’s a mostly safe environment, go for it! just remember that there will always be assholes that are terrible people, and ignore them. thank u anon! i’m out to my parents, but sadly they won’t believe me until a psych says i’m trans (which sucks but at least i’m not on the streets). my town is tiny as fuck (~5.5k residents) but it’s more progressive than the average person would think. people still use gay and the f slur as insults here, but nobody gets shit for being lgbt (i’ve came out to multiple people as pan, and i even painted a rainbow flag on the moon for my art project, and i’ve only faced ignorance, not malice) from what i’ve seen. one time i overhead a group of cis guys talking about a bi boy and one of them asked “oh is he a f*****” and another said “hey don’t call him that, that’s not cool”, which gives me high hopes. but people can be VERY intolerant here. so… i’m on the fence. i will definitely follow your advice, though. i already have a plan of attack :^)
